Located in the heart of Westbury, East Wing is created by the community for the community. It is a space for counselling and psychotherapy, meditation and study. We have organically developed throughout the years to include healing in its widest sense.
We highlight three principles: not knowing; bearing witness; and compassionate action. Together, these inspire the possibility of staying open without holding fixed ideas. It means we stay open to possibilities. This allows us to fully bear witness – to both the joys and suffering in the world. This in turn cultivates the intention to engage in compassionate loving action towards both our self and others.
All our events and services are offered on a donation or suggested fee basis.

We offer therapeutic support through our counselling and psychotherapy service. We also offer mindfulness meditation, yoga, Tai Chi and Reiki as a resource of well-being and help at times of anxiety and stress. We collect food for the food bank and share resources for members of the community who require a hand at difficult times.
For those more specifically interested in meditation we have a regular sitting group – The East Wing Sangha – a community of spiritual friends who meet every fortnight on a Sunday afternoon. You certainly don’t have to be Buddhist to join in. Details of all of these and other events at East Wing can be found under ‘What’s On’, and be sure to check out our Facebook page too.

One major change for counsellors and psychotherapists is a shift to working online. We have high speed broadband and our rooms make a welcome change from being stuck at home. As one colleague said, "It's so nice to go out to work and cross the threshold into the therapy space".
